Which of Lednice's two routes should you book?
The State Rooms and the Private Apartments are separate guided circuits. Here is what each covers and how to choose.
The interiors at Lednice are seen only on guided tours, and there are two distinct circuits. They are priced identically and cover different parts of the house, so the choice is about what you want to see rather than what you want to spend. Most visitors take one; the two together make a longer but perfectly manageable morning.
Route I — the Representative State Rooms
Route I walks the grand halls and reception rooms: the spaces the Liechtensteins built for entertaining and for display, with the carved woodwork, painted ceilings and furnishings that make Lednice one of the most photographed interiors in Moravia.
It includes the celebrated spiral staircase carved from a single oak, which is the detail most visitors remember. If you are visiting once and want the house at its most theatrical, this is the circuit.
Route II — the Private Princely Apartments
Route II covers the rooms the family actually lived in, away from the official display: smaller, more domestic, and furnished for use rather than for effect.
It is the quieter of the two and appeals to visitors who have seen enough state rooms elsewhere and would rather understand how a princely family occupied a summer house. Same price, different register.
Doing both
The two circuits are separate timed departures, so taking both means booking two tours with a sensible gap between them. They do not overlap, so nothing is repeated.
Leave enough margin between departures. Tours run to a schedule and will not wait, and the walk from the ticket area to the entrance is not instant on a busy summer day.
Language and audioguides
Guided tours run in Czech, with an English, German or Russian audioguide available to borrow so you can follow the same circuit in your own language. Visitors sometimes expect an English-speaking guide and are caught out at the door, so it is worth knowing in advance.

The rest of the estate is separate
Neither route includes the palm house, the minaret or the boat trips. Those are separate attractions within the estate with their own admission and their own opening patterns.
That catches people out. A chateau ticket is a tour of the house, not a pass to everything in the park, so plan the glasshouse and the minaret as additions rather than assuming they are included.
Which to choose
If it is your first visit and you have one departure in you, take Route I. It is the more spectacular of the two and it contains the oak staircase.
If you have been before, or you prefer domestic interiors to ceremonial ones, take Route II. If you have the morning, take both — Route I first, then Route II.
